It was chilly but dry in the morning under an overcast sky. I was happy to see a great turnout of Nature Nuts today!!! We saw some signs of Spring like the Which hazel and many Indian Plum ready to bloom in the next week, thanks to the mild temperatures. I have also spotted some Pussy willows already (!!) earlier this week. Many Robins fluttered about, some chickadees and we heard a woodpecker and a raven overhead. These gardens are very well maintained over the winter and this is a park where locals come everyday and can see the changes in the new growth of buds and blooms. Just a few maple flower buds were visible, these are edible and taste sweet and are commonly named “samaras’. Good trails for strollers and even wheelchairs! We should come back again in a month or so, there will be some leafing out in de undergrowth for sure!
